Brief Station History
Station 2 is home to Engine 2, Ladder 24, the south side Battalion Chief, Battalion 2, and the High Angle Rope Rescue Truck. This station opened on January 29, 1992. It was designed by Architect Raymond Jaminet at a cost of $1million. It replaced stations 8 and 13, both on the city's south side.

Youngstown Fire Station Number Two responds with three front-line trucks.

Engine 2 responds with a 2002 Pierce Contender Engines. The rig has a 1250 gallon per minute (gpm) pumping capability and carries 750 gallons of water on board. The truck went into frontline service the morning of May 6, 2002. |
| Ladder 24 is a 1992, four door, low profile cab, Duplex/Grumman 102ft tower. The rig has a 1500 gallon per minute (gpm) pumping capability and carries 200 gallons of water on board. It responds to alarms south of the Mahoning River and citywide on a second alarm. |

Battalion 2 uses a 2006 Chevy Suburban. Battalion 2 responds citywide on all structure fires. This unit was Safety 1 for a while and is now being referred to again as Battalion 2 (9/14/98). |
Youngstown Fire Station Number Two also has these special or auxiliary units.
| The High Angle Rope Rescue Truck uses the ex-arson bureau truck. It carries a compliment of specialized rescue equipment for high angle rescues. The HARRT team has expaneded into the Technical Rescue Operations Team (TROT). The future use of this truck is unknown. |
