City fire personnel continue to investigate a blaze that broke out on Cameron Avenue this morning.

Capt. Terry Stephens, of the Youngstown Fire Department, said the fire started at about 9:30 a.m. in the living room of a home at 927 Cameron Ave.

The captain said the house is occupied, but no one was home at the time of the fire. Damages were estimated at about $5,000.

Arson investigators are on the scene, and Stephens said the fire is still under investigation.

Arson investigators are looking in to a house fire that broke out on the city's South Side Wednesday.

It happened at a home on Cameron Avenue and was reported just after 10 a.m.

The Youngstown Fire Department said no one was at home when the fire started.

When crews arrived, smoke and flames could be seen coming out of the living room.

It didn't take long to put out the fire.

Firefighters Battle Blaze On Youngstown's South Side

Youngstown fire crews were kept busy Tuesday, battling a vacant house fire at the corner of Dewey and Gibson on the city's south side.

The house was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived on scene around 8:30 p.m. and they just let the structure burn. It collapsed within 20 minutes.

Firefighters did pour water onto a house next door to keep it from catching fire. No word on how the fire started.
