youngstownfire.com PatchAbout the youngstownfire.com Patch

The following explains some of the significant items on the youngstownfire.com patch. The American Flag is in the shape of the Maltese cross. The Youngstown city skyline is depicted on the bottom of the Maltese cross. The Home Savings & Loan Building is the tall tower on the leftmost side. The numbers and letters in the circle are the current active companies in service when the patch was produced. They are Engines 2, 3, 6, 7, 9, 12, and 15, Ladders 22 and 24, Squad 33 and Battalions 1 and 2. The YFD in the center of the patch is the logo on the apparatus door. "We've got your fire covered!", the motto of the youngstownfire.com site, was an idea by my friend Bill Broadhead. The initial artwork for the patch was designed by Greg Ricker and produced by http://www.firecollector.com. This patch, released September 20th, 2003, is dedicated to the men and women of the Youngstown Fire Department.
