Central Fire Station
The Central Fire Station was a sight to see. It was one of the most impressive stations in the city's history. Construction was completed in 1894 at the northeast corner of Boardman and Hazel Streets, the same spot as the Gov. Tod Engine House first sat. It quartered the chief and assistant chief's offices. The firehouse would be condemned and closed in April of 1932 and it's equipment relocated to nearby stations. It would be demolished shortly after.

Price: $15.00

Station Number 7
Youngstown's Fire Station Number 7 is the oldest still operational station in the city. It is located on the southeast corner of Madison and Elm. The station was completed and opened on January 23, 1904. Some yet to be explained event caused the removal of the third floor of the station. During the peak of the city's population, this station housed an engine, ladder and chief's car.

One interesting note about this cutout. The design for this station is a combination of actual photos and a proposed architects rendering of the completed station. The center door between the bays was in the architectural drawing and was not added when the firehouse was being constructed. The rest of the station is as it would have looked in 1904 when the station began operation.

Horse Drawn Steamer
This is the typical steamers used by the fire department in the late 1880's-1900's. Youngstown had four of these steamers in operation. The horses would later be retired and a motorized Christy tractor would be added to each.

Price $10.00

The First Motorized Fire Truck
Youngstown's first motorized piece of equipment was this 1908 Webb Squirrel Tail nicknamed "Thomas" because of the Thomas chasse it was constructed on. This unit was placed in service at Station Number 8 at Market and Glenaven.

Price $10.00
