On July 15, 2020 at 22:49, the Youngstown Fire Department was dispatched for a reported fire in a vacant commercial building. On the initial dispatch, Engines 2, 7, 9 Rescue 3, Ladders 22 and 24 and Battalions 1 and 2 responded. The fire was located a short distance from Station 2 and the crews from 2 house arrived on the scene within minutes.

The building was quickly engulfed and firefighters were forced to go defensive. At 22:52, an additional engine was requested and Engine 15 was sent to the scene. At 22:54, Chief 1 also marked enroute to the fire. At 22:57, another additional engine was dispatched summoning Engine 12. Since they were the only remaining company in the city, they were cleared from the structure fire and covered over at Station 1.

According to news reports, the building was a well known location in the Uptown district in its former days. Known as the Chez Paree bar, it was the scene of an FBI investigation into the November 23, 1962 Charles "Cadillac" Cavallaro mob car bombing.
